Historic Preservation
National Navy museum Development Foundation
From 2024-2026 we are learning about and raising funds to support the National Naval Museum Development Foundation (NMDF). The NMDF’s mission is to perpetuate the heritage of the United States Navy by supporting and raising funds for the establishment of a National Museum of the United States Navy in Washington, D.C.
Education
Wreaths across america
Emily Nelson has participated in both placing wreaths at the US Soldiers & Airmen’s Home National Cemetery as well as the wreath clean up each January for several years. It is always a moving experience being able to honor our nations’ veterans.
Patriotism
Cleaning the Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Emily Nelson Daughters along with other DCDAR members work with the National Park Service to clean and maintain our veterans’ memorials on the National Mall including the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and Disabled American Veterans for Life Memorial April-November each year.
